Hi, welcome to my blog, my name is Omar Sepulveda, better known as x_WrathOfHeaven in the Battlefield community. This is a guide about the different planes that we can find in the Battlefield V video game. 

Released in 2018, Battlefield V incorporated many new mechanics never seen before in previous titles, one of the most notorious being air combat, forever changing the gameplay in the aircraft combat system, making it feel more realistic and competitive.

In Battlefield V we can find different types of aircraft with specific purposes and now are divided in classifications each plane now has its own configuration.

Classification of aircrafts

-The fighters are the main air force in Battlefield V, also are probably the aircraft with more it is the aircraft with the most action on the battlefield, since it can be used for different purposes, but being the combat with other airplanes the main purpose of this one. They are usually used by the most experienced pilots in the game to show their skills.

-The attack aircrafts (aka light bombers) are the second more used aircrafts in Battlefield V, commonly used for the new players when they are trying to learn to fly. These planes are focused for lightning attacks on enemy forces, usually equipped with medium or light bombs.

-The bombers are the most powerful planes in the game, their weaponry is focused on destroying heavy armored vehicles and heavy fortifications, such as bunkers, and decimating enemy infantry.

 

Specific Roles

-The main role of the fighters is to clean the path for bombers from enemy fighters as well as enemy bombers, but they also can be used for covering fire for the protection of ground units.

-The attack aircrafts must give support to ground units by destroying enemy light tanks and medium tanks as well as light fortifications and enemy infantry, cleaning the path for the ground forces.

-The bombers main role is to annihilate any kind of enemy forces, they must use all heavy weaponry against all enemy ground force, thus weakening the enemy and ensuring victory for the allied ground forces.

 

Aircrafts Configurations

-Fighters have the option of being equipped only with machine guns and gain more speed and mobility by reducing weight, being the main objective to shoot down other planes. Also, they can be equipped with light rockets or bombs to provide ground support, thus reducing their ability to fight against other fighters of the same category.

-Attack aircrafts can be equipped with a single heavy bomb to destroy medium structures or vehicles, as well as enemy infantry, but this will reduce its velocity, making it vulnerable to AA guns. Nevertheless, Its main machine guns can be replaced by 37mm light cannons with High Explosive (HE) rounds to damage enemy vehicles and infantry, thus gaining more speed and mobility by having less weight. -Bombers can be equipped with several heavy bombs with a very wide blast radius and with light bombs as compliment, but thus gaining more weight and consequently being an easy target for enemy fighters due to their slowness, but also, they can be equipped with a heavy anti-tank gun, thus replacing the bombs and gaining more speed.

 

Conclusion

The new mechanics in the game and the inclusion of the different classes of aircraft with different configurations make the game feel even more realistic and gives a more competitive touch for all players, giving the freedom to develop unique skills for both pilots and players who like team and tactical gameplay.
